Adult class, all levels
Tuesdays (March 11 to April 15) from 10:00 AM – noonThis six-week workshop will explore charcoal drawing. Realistic and abstract drawing techniques will be covered, such as creating three dimensional form, effective compositional arrangements and how to draw from direct observation. Working in the medium of charcoal is fun, easy and messy! But, it’s worth it to create beautiful drawings with an aesthetic interplay of light and dark values. Individualized instruction and group critiques help you express your creativity in this traditional drawing medium.
Whether you’re an experienced artist or new to the medium of charcoal drawing, you will learn how to use charcoal effectively while avoiding common mistakes. The charm of charcoal drawing lies both in its simplicity and its forgiving nature. The beauty of charcoal drawing is why it has remained a popular medium for drawing since the Renaissance.
